Tour Israel - Day Schedule

  

Israel Tour Itinerary –

7 to 10 Days in Israel + 3 Travel Days

Dates: Departure to Return

Please note that due to local conditions changes may be made to the itinerary before or during the time of travel.

Day 1 - Travel Only

Those traveling on  group flight please meet your tour group in (Departure City) at the (Airline)  for an orientation with group escort for our ( Time of Departure) departure on (Airline) to the land of Israel. You will receive dinner after take-off and breakfast before landing. There will also be juice, water, and snacks provided during the flight.

Arrive TEL AVIV (preferably mid to late afternoon), (this is good arrival time at Ben Gurion.) Meet HOST and our GUIDE and bus driver and transport to Tel Aviv. Check-in to HOTEL. Dinner and a good night’s rest!

Day 2 – 

  • ·JAFFA – Simon the Tanner’s house (Peter’s Vision that Gentiles have a part in this vision)
  • CAESAREA MARITIMA. North, following the Mediterranean Sea we arrive at Herod the Great’s huge seaside port and home to Pontius Pilate and prison of the Apostle Paul. 
  • MEGIDDO (the name synonymous with “Armageddon”) to tour the ancient site and hear brief lecture on Othney, site of the most famous Prayer hall floor in Israel.
  • NAZARETH VILLAGE - experience a re-creation of daily life & customs in Jesus’ day! 
  • MT. PRECIPICE – Overlooking Nazareth and Jezreel Valley. Jesus walks thru a hostile crowd.
  • SEPHORIS NATIONAL PARK - Sephoris National Park (likely Jesus and brothers spent more time working here than in Nazareth) Regional capital of Galilee.
  • KHIRBET QANA - (site of first miracle)
  • Travel to Sea of Galilee

Overnight at the David’s Harp hotel directly across the road from ancient Capernaum. 

Day 3 – 

  • Capernaum
  • Mt. Arbel, INPA  & 1st CE Lower Synagogue
  • Wadi Hamam –  spring of the King
  • Mt. Nitai – 1st  CE village
  • Magdela
  • Lunch: Migdal   Restaurant
  • Ginosar – Beit  Alon, ‘Jesus Boat’
  • Tel Kinneret  Observation Point
  • Mt of  Beatitudes
  • Tabgha
  • Mensa Christi
  • Capernaum, INPA – Cradle of Christianity Boat ride & Baptism site
  • Evening:   David’s Harp Hotel

Day 4 – 

  • Jordan River  entry into Sea of Galilee
  • Beit Saida  excavations
  • Korazim
  • Kursi
  • Sussita
  • Lunch: Kibbutz  Ein Gev
  • Southern Golan   Heights – Overlooking Jordan & Syria
  • Golan Heights northward to Gamla INPA
  • Evening: David’s Harp Hotel

Day 5 – 

  • North to Rosh  Pina, Kiryat Schmona, Metula (Overlooking Lebanon)
  • Tel Dan  National Park
  • Nimrod’s Castle      
  • Caesarea  Philippi National Park
  • Mt. Hermon   (most likely site of Transfiguration) Overlook Syria
  • Head south to  Katsrin – Talmudic Village
  • Tel Hatzor  National Park
  • Evening: David’s  Harp

Day 6 – 

  • South to Jordan   Valley 
  • BEIT SHEAN   NATIONAL PARK
  • Shilo National   Park
  • Jordan River  Cross Over Point Entering the Good Land
  • Jericho Baptism   site of Jesus
  • QUMRON - Site   of Dead Sea Scrolls (if 7 day in      land tour)
  • JERUSALEM –Mt.  of Olives overview of the Holy City.
  • JERUSALEM -  Garden of Gethsemane
  • JERUSALEM - TEMPLE MOUNT to explore the ancient site of the Jewish Temples. 
  • WESTERN WALL 
  • WESTERN WALL TUNNELS 
  • JEWISH QUARTER TEMPLE INSTITUTE where preparations are being made for a future Temple. 
  • Evening: JERUSALEM  HOTEL

Day 7 – 

  • JERUSALEM – CITY OF DAVID
  • WARREN’S SHAFT
  • MELCHESIDEC ALTAR AREA 
  • SPRING TOWER from the      Jebusite & Canaanite periods, and 
  • WALK Canaanite      dry tunnel or the historical Israelite HEZEKIAH’S WATER TUNNEL.       
  • POOL OF SILOAM in the KIDRON VALLEY 
  • JAFFA GATE – VISIT CHRIST CHURCH, FIRST CHURCH IN MIDDLE EAST
  • VIA  DEL A ROSA
  • CHURCH  OF THE HOLY SEPLECHURE 
  • VAD  VASHEM
  • DRIVE TO BEN GURION FOR LATE EVENING DEPARTURE HOM
  • OR IF  TOUR CONTINUES
  • DEAD SEA - drive  to EIN BOQEK to check-in to the beautiful DEAD      SEA HOTEL  Leisure time to enjoy the  amenities of the hotel’s spa (optional), the immense swimming pool or  experience floating in the DEAD SEA at  the hotel’s private beach. Dinner and overnight.

Day 8

  • MASADA, site of the Jewish People’s final stand against  the Romans in A.D. 73, ascending by cable cars to see the remains of  Herod’s palatial fortress. 
  • EIN-GEDI (a modern nature preserve) where David hid from Saul  and composed some of the psalms. Optional climb to NAHAL DAVID (upper waterfall). 
  • QUMRAN, site of the community that produced the Dead Sea  Scrolls and of Dr. Price’s excavations on the southern plateau and have a  late lunch. 
  • We end our day  back in Jerusalem and the Jerusalem Hotel.

Day 9

  • BETHLEHEM– 
  • HERODIAN, the mountain-fortress of Herod the Great where the  infamous king’s tomb was just excavated several years ago, 
  • SHEPHERD’S  FIELD (YMCA) to  sing Christmas carols inside a shepherd’s cave (with manger outside!). 
  • CHURCH  OF THE NATIVITY, the traditional birthplace of Jesus and site of Jerome’s translation of the  Latin Vulgate. 
  • OLIVE  WOOD STORE
  • return to  Jerusalem and overnight again at the (TBD) Hotel in Jerusalem

Day 10

  • BETHANY –   remembering Lazarus resurrection
  • JERUSALEM– MOUNT  OF OLIVES and again walk down the “disciples path” to
  • DOMINUS  FLEVIT, the place where  Christ wept over Jerusalem and 
  • GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE where He  prayed. 
  • CAIAPHAS’  HOUSE, the home of the  high priest that presided over the Jewish trial of Jesus. 
  • St.  Stephen’s Gate, with a visit to St. Anne’s Crusader Church and seeing the 
  • POOL  OF BETHESDA. 
  • CHURCH  OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE, the traditional  site of the crucifixion and tomb of Jesus. 
  • Reflection on the sufferings of the Savior with a climax at the GARDEN TOMB with a COMMUNION SERVICE. 
  • Farewell dinner at the  (TBD) Restaurant in ABU GOSH (biblical Kiryath      Yea’arim) and 
  • then to Ben-Gurion airport for a 1:00 am flight to the USA.

Day 11 – Travel Only

– Travel Day only. The group, after boarding a 1:00am EL AL flight, arrives at New York-JFK at 5:50 am, transfers to domestic flights for home with your wonderful memories of the land of Israel!
