1991: Over 3 Decades ago - what began as a short term business trip has become a life long journey of love and support for the land of Israel and its people.
1997: Numerous additional trips, some business and some ministry related, all seemed to support a growing love and aptitude for all things Israel, particularly history of the 2nd Temple Period.
2000-2003: Five visits for small group prayer during the times of Intifada. From Mt. Hermon to Eilat, from Jericho to Jaffa, we travelled and prayed. During this time we became friends with a few leaders of Israel's World Heritage Commission. Friendships that continue to this day.
2005: We agreed to participate and support Israel's World Heritage Commission nomination of 'Jesus and the Apostles, Galilee Journeys', to UNESCO. We became part of the Nomination Committee to support this effort.. By G-d's provision we were able to bring half of the resources needed to support this nomination. The State of Israel supplied the remainder of this budget.
2006-2007: we moved to Kibbutz Ginosar at the Sea of Galilee to prepare the management plan for the UNESCO nomination. Extensive research and documentation focused on the sites of Nazareth, Magdela, Tabgha, Mensa Christi, Korazim and Capernaum. Here we lived the kibbutz life and loved this time especially with our next door neighbors who remain as family to us.
2008-2019: Numerous times back to Israel focused on the Sea of Galilee sites. Research and documentation continues.
2019-2024: 2019 - 2024: we suggest Capernaum NPA visitor experience be carefully re-examined. We suggest the ancient harbor and promenade be carefully conserved and turned into a living harbor and that a more accurate presentation of the Jewish Jesus of Nazareth be presented at this pilgrim site. We suggest that the 4k path connecting Capernaum and ancient Korazim be lightly developed as a pilgrim path. We suggest that the National Park Authority re-examine its sites associated with Jesus of Nazareth and think how authenticity of the Jewish narrative of Jesus could be more accurately represented and experienced by over 2 million visiting pilgrims annually. We accept invitation to establish an expert Steering Committee to begin reimagining Israel's pilgrim sites.
2025: We accept invitation to become Goodwill Ambassador to the international Christian community. Our focus is pilgrim site planning, presentation, sustainability and assisting with human and financial resources necessary.
Our first two priorities are Capernaum, NPA and Caesarea Maritima, NPA. Eight additional sites are also being actively examined and planned.
Planning has already begun to make Capernaum NPA a world class pilgrim visitor experience. As of May the ancient harbor and promenade is being carefully planned for conservation and turned into a living harbor such that a more accurate presentation and narrative of the Jewish Jesus of Nazareth may be presented at this pilgrim site. Capernaum NPA will become one of three very important pilgrim hub locations in Israel. This effort is of very high priority.
In addition, the site of Caesarea Maritima and, in particular, the prison cell of Paul and housing section of the Roman contingent of Cornelius is also being actively planned to better represent its narrative as an important pilgrim site and will also be one of three important pilgrim hubs locations in Israel. This effort is of high priority.
The third priority is to do moderate improvements to the site of Zippori and make it into the 3rd important pilgrim hub site in Israel.
In addition, the 4k path connecting Capernaum and ancient Korazim is being reexamined as to clarity of presentation as a pilgrim path. This effort is of moderately high priority.
Phase I will revitalize ten key pilgrim sites and continually monitor the effectiveness and pilgrim satisfaction with these improvements.
Phase II will be the revitalization of the remaining 11 pilgrim sites and continually monitor their effectiveness as each is better planned and brought on line.
